Tapestry, the parent company of Coach, has signed a three-year purchase agreement with Gen Phoenix for its proprietary recycled leather material, marking a significant step in sustainable luxury. The first project under this partnership will be a new line of Coach Classic bags made from fully-coated Gen Phoenix recycled leather, set to debut later this year and expand globally by 2026.

Gen Phoenix, known for transforming leather scraps into high-quality materials, has long supplied recycled leather for mass transportation. This collaboration elevates the material into the luxury market, offering consumers sustainable products without sacrificing quality or design. Tapestry plans to purchase 40 million square feet of Gen Phoenix leather over three years, incorporating it across collections while maintaining competitive pricing.

'Sustainability only matters at scale,' said Elyse Winer, Chief Marketing Officer at Gen Phoenix. The partnership reflects both brands’ commitment to reshaping the supply chain and redefining waste as a resource in luxury fashion.
