Mulberry's Portobello Tote Repurposes a Food Production By-Product

Mulberry created its Portobello tote as its first-ever 100% sustainable leather bag, featuring a design that's made in the UK. The bag is made with heavy grain leather that's actually a by-product of food production, which gives the design much less of an environmental impact than traditional leather goods. Notably, the design of the chic bag has no lining and handles that have the potential to double as shoulder straps.

The silhouette of the Portobello tote may seem familiar, as it was based on the design of a plastic bag. The bag, made entirely in the UK in Mulberry's carbon-neutral factory, is also stitched with recycled thread. The Portobello bag is available in a range of colors, including classic Black, Crimson, Tangerine Orange and Mulberry Green.
