Fiber-Made Food Trays

Meat packaging and convenience food trays are traditionally made with plastic, but these FiberWise trays have been developed as a sustainable packaging alternative that's decidedly more eco-conscious.

The trays will premiere at Empack in Birmingham in the UK and are crafted with 100% renewable resources with a reported 70% less plastic usage when compared to conventional rigid PET and PP plastic trays. The trays will feature a variety of standard top film options to offer greater versatility for producers. The trays allow for separability to allow for efficient recycling of the fiber as well as the plastic components.

Business Unit Director, Hartmann Kati Ørskov commented on the FiberWise trays saying, "FiberWise presents a viable, eco-friendly alternative with the potential to transform the packaging market over the long term."
