Citronics Unveils a New Micro-Computer Made from Old Smartphones

Citronics introduces an innovative micro-computer made from the remnants of old smartphones. Collaborating with Fairphone, a popular tech repurposing brand, this launch focuses on reusing discarded elements like motherboards to create new products like "embedded computers." Additionally, the partnership taps Village n°1 to facilitate the dismantling, sorting, and testing of the digital components.

"In a world of infinite resources and cheap energy, this would make no sense," said Jean-Brieuc Feron, founder of Citronics. "But since Covid-19, the Suez Canal blockage, and piracy in the Red Sea, we have realised the need for economic resilience and independence from strategic components."

Dubbed the 'DevKit,' the device hopes to reduce mobile phone waste by breathing new life into old components.
