Brompton is envisioning a factory of the future to incorporate sustainable practices into its bicycle productions. The British bicycle manufacturer enlisted the help of architects Hollaway Studio based in Ashford, Kent, to accomplish its goal.

The architects unveiled plans to build Brompton's carbon-neutral headquarters and factory within an unused wetlands area. The area will be rewilded to become a nature reserve as part of the plans. Brompton and Hollaway Studio set the factory's completion date for 2027. The building will boast production facilities open to the public with dedicated bike access via a cycle ramp, which will be elevated above the wetlands. While the building will be carbon-neutral, it will also use state-of-the-art facilities to produce 200,000 bikes per year.
