Asda and Podback have announced a new partnership that will see the former retailer providing consumers with an easier way to access the latter brand's recycling service for coffee pods in the UK. The partnership will see shoppers able to drop off their Podback bags filled with single-use aluminum and plastic coffee pods at more than 600 Asda locations. The free-to-use service was originally started by Nestlé and Jacobs Douwe Egberts in 2021, and could see greater expansion thanks to this new partnership.

Senior Manager - Health and Sustainable Choices at Asda Beth Fowler spoke on the Asda and Podback partnership saying, "We’re always looking for ways to support customers to make sustainable choices when shopping with us. The partnership with Podback is one of many workstreams across Asda’s ESG strategy including broader commitments on packaging reduction, recyclability and recycled content. By offering the collection and recycling service with Asda toYou and Podback, we hope that we can make recycling more convenient than ever when shopping with Asda.”
