ACCIONA and DDB Melbourne are launching a new product under the 'Turbine Made' brand, specifically utilizing retired turbine blades and transforming them into new products and materials to prevent them from going to landfills. The first product, a surfboard, was created with surfer Josh Kerr and the Draft Surf team. It features a retired fibreglass turbine blade that has been transformed into the 'Turbine Made' particulate to design the surfboard, and then it was treated with a bespoke processing technique from Draft Surf.

"Creating a board from recycled turbine blades helps inspire the next generation of environmentalists," said Giles Watson, DDB Group Melbourne's ECD. "Beyond being bloody cool, this project proves that sustainability and performance can go hand in hand—opening the door for a wave of new possibilities with Turbine Made."
