Minimal Impact-Reduced Handbags

Spinnova and ASK Scandinavia Unveil a Consciously-Made Handbag

Spinnova and ASK Scandinavia have unveiled an innovative work tote bag that marries sustainability with functionality. Crafted from 30% wood-based Spinnova fibers and 70% cotton, the tote’s fabric is dyed with natural indigo produced by Natural Indigo Finland, using coffee waste from Paulig.

This collaboration showcases Spinnova's cutting-edge fiber technology, which significantly lowers environmental impact—reducing CO₂ emissions by 74% and requiring 98% less water than traditional cotton. ASK Scandinavia has incorporated its versatile Nordic design ethos, prioritizing durable materials to extend the product’s life cycle.

Additionally, the natural indigo dye derived from coffee waste involves fewer toxins and shorter dyeing cycles than conventional methods. Furthermore, Natural Indigo Finland’s process is uniquely efficient, allowing the same dye batch to be reused multiple times, reducing waste and resource footprint.
