Smile Coffee Werks is making coffee a little more eco-friendly with the debut of the first-of-its-kind commercially compostable coffee pods.

Smile Coffee Werks' new coffee pods are compatible with Nespresso classic style coffee makers, BPI-certified, and are commercially compostable in 12 weeks. The first-of-its-kind pods are made from renewable raw materials that boast more than a 12-month shelf life. More specifically, the patented pods are made up of a plant-based, BPA-free cup and top, which makes them commercially compostable. This makes the new pods perfect for private labels, retailers, and hospitality groups alike. As Smile Coffee Werks' Co-Founder Michael Sands explains, "Single-serve coffee is hugely popular and convenient, but creates tremendous waste to our environment. Coffee consumers can now purchase commercially compostable products, a guilt-free way to enjoy your daily cup of joe."
