Eco-Friendly Skating Rinks

Ruby Foo’s Hotel Boasts a Rink Made from Synthetic Materials

Ruby Foo’s Hotel in Montreal has introduced a year-round eco-friendly skating rink, marking the first of its kind in the province of Québec. The rink, named 'Shooting Star,' is constructed using "high-quality synthetic materials designed to operate without carbon emissions, offering a more sustainable alternative to traditional rinks."

The hotel’s management highlights its commitment to combining guest experiences with environmental responsibility. According to Josée Lelièvre, Vice President of Groupe Luger and General Manager of Ruby Foo’s, the rink is part of their broader initiative to support responsible tourism.

Moreover, "to mitigate the environmental impact of the rink’s production and transportation, the associated greenhouse gas emissions have been offset through tree planting programs, such as Carbone Boréal." In conjunction with this, the hotel has implemented a sustainability policy aimed at minimizing its overall environmental footprint.
