French manufacturer Berkem launched a new kiwi skincare ingredient called Ki’Leaft that's beneficial for its antioxidant, firming and regenerative properties. This active ingredient for reinforcing the function of the skin barrier makes the most of an ingredient from local supply chains near Berkem's extraction plant in Dordogne, in the southwest of France.
Ki’Leaft is an extract of kiwi leaves and it's 100% of natural origin and upcycled. Clinical studies have shown that this active ingredient boasts an "immediate tightening effect" and it helps with the reduction of wrinkles and fine lines.
As a whole, the beauty industry is turning to upcycled ingredients to make the most of waste products that have unique benefits to share.
