James Cropper's ‘Message in a Wrap' Merges Art and Sustainability

'Message in a Wrap' marks a bold new chapter in sustainable design, as James Cropper partners with artist Nathan Ward to unveil a breathtaking 3D diorama crafted entirely from Moulded Fibre and paper. This visually striking installation celebrates the brand’s pioneering partnership with Bruichladdich Distillery and reimagines what packaging can be -- functional, beautiful, and deeply meaningful.

Created using custom-made paper sheets from the same pulp used in James Cropper’s award-winning Moulded Fibre wrap, the piece reflects both craftsmanship and environmental consciousness. The diorama artfully merges the landscapes of Bruichladdich’s Isle of Islay distillery with James Cropper’s historic Burneside mill, honoring shared values of heritage, innovation, and sustainability.

Part of James Cropper’s 180th anniversary, Message in a Wrap showcases paper as a storytelling medium and highlights the brand’s ongoing commitment to redefining packaging with purpose. This collaboration proves that when material science meets imagination, the result is a masterpiece with impact far beyond the shelf.
