Climate First Bank is Ready to Expand Nationwide
Kalin Ned — June 28, 2024Climate First Bank, the world’s first FDIC-insured bank dedicated to addressing climate change, has exited its de novo status after three years of operation. This milestone allows the bank to expand its sustainable finance mission beyond Florida, aiming to make eco-friendly banking accessible nationwide.
Climate First Bank's mission is to enable customers to use their finances for positive environmental impact. It offers a range of mission-driven products, including consumer and commercial solar loans, which have facilitated the installation of solar panels on over 2,000 homes in Florida. With a customer base of over 10,700 business and personal account holders, the bank combines digital banking services with three physical locations in Florida and plans to open additional branches in Tampa, Orlando, and Jacksonville.
To support its expansion and increasing customer demands, the bank has added new staff, including roles in marketing, branch management, and business operations.
